College Work Study Program

The police department began participating in Federal College Work Study program about fifteen years ago. Currently, Work Study students earn $7.50 per hour while working part-time around their school schedules. The department uses work study students in a variety of functions including, Criminal Investigations, Training and Records. Work Study applicants must be approved for a Federal Work-Study grant as part of their Financial Aid entitlement.

In addition to a number of clerical duties, Work-Study employees may assist with crime analysis, computer data entry, and logging physical evidence as it is collected by technical investigators at major crime scenes.
