MAICO

Sama was purchased from Vohne Liche Kennels in Denver, Indiana in September of 2000.  She is a titled dual purpose female German Shepherd trained in Czechoslovakia.  Sama was handled by Officer Comstock.  During her career she excelled in narcotic detection.  Sama made numerous narcotic finds that resulted in many arrests and forfeitures.  She also apprehended a burglary suspect that had broke into the local McDonald's.

In the summer of 2001 Sama tore an Achilles tendon during training.  Unfortunately this ended Sama's ability to be a dual purpose K9.  Sama was still able to perform her duties in narcotic detection.  She was donated to the Coyle Police Department, to assist in narcotic detection, in November of 2001.  Sama was returned to the Stillwater Police Department in the spring of 2002 due to unfortunate personnel difficulties in Coyle.

Sama performed narcotic detection duties in Stillwater until November of 2002.  At this time she was donated to Newton Mississippi where she continues to excel in narcotic detection.  During her short time in Stillwater Sama was a tremendous asset to the K9 unit, she will be missed.
