ORGANIZATION AND OVERVIEW |
| As the county seat of, and centrally located within
the heart of Payne County, the City of Stillwater is currently comprised of 44.32 square
km (28 square mi.) within the incorporated city limits, and has a base population of
approximately 45,700 people.
The Stillwater Police Department (SPD), in association with the Payne County Sheriff's Office, the Oklahoma State University Police, and the Oklahoma Highway Patrol-Troop K, vigorously protects the lives, rights, and property of its citizens. SPD consists of 71 sworn officers and 36 civilians with a paramilitary based command structure; Chief of Police, Major, Captains, and Lieutenants, with various administrative supervisors throughout the other various departments and divisions.
