Work Study Program

The Stillwater Police Department began participating in Federal College Work Study program in the mid 1980’s.  Work study students earn money while working part-time around their school schedules. The department utilizes work study students for a variety of functions and they may be assigned to any number of specialty units including; the Investigations Bureau, the Property Unit, Crime Analyst, the Training Unit, or the Records Unit Work Study applicants must be approved for a Federal Work-Study grant as part of their Financial Aide entitlement.

In addition to a number of clerical duties, Work Studies may assist with crime analysis, computer data entry, as well as logging of physical evidence taken by officers at crimes scenes.
